I’m not certified

At PSD we can help you in your first steps into scuba diving, what some call “blow your first bubbles”. But also we can help you achieve that coveted extra level of training to further enhance your diving comfort and knowledge.

We are able to conduct, teach and/or certify the full range of PADI programs from a Bubblemaker for your little ones that can’t get certified (yet), to the Divemaster program.

The two most popular training programs are the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience and the Open Water Diver course. Here’s a quick overview of entry level experiences for those of you that do not want to enroll in a full certification course. If you are interested in a certification course go to the Getting certified page.

Bubblemaker

Open to kids of all ages starting at 8 years old. But it is specially popular with 8 and 9 year olds because once they turn 10 they can opt for a  DSD or for a Junior Open Water Diver course. This program must be conducted in confined waters, e.g. a pool.
It’s the perfect first adventure for the future divers of the family to have them try and have fun with a full scuba gear set in a controlled environment.

Duration: 45-60 min
Perfect for: 8 & 9 year olds
Includes: All scuba gear
Cost: 99 USD
*Parent or guardian must be present during the initial briefing of the program and then on the premises.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING – DSD
scuba diving
Starting at 10 years old they can go in the ocean.

By far the most popular PADI program. Great way to try out scuba if you have never done it before. It is important to understand that it is not a certification. But it could be your first step towards it. It’s perfect for those looking for a quick way to experience the amazingness of breathing underwater. And being in Cozumel this means diving in one of the most spectacular reefs of the world. It’s also convenient if you are considering taking the full Open Water Diver Course, but are not 100% sure you’ll love it (spoiler alert: you will).

The experience includes a basic training session and either one or two open water dives depending on how much you want to spend and see.

The  introductory class is the same for all. It includes the first section of the confined water training of the PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) course. This means that if you complete all the required skill it credits towards your OWD if you decide to get certified after completing the DSD.

In terms of pricing we have two options for our DSDs
DSD on a budget: After the initial training we conduct one 45 min. shore dive.
Cost: 99 USD
Duration: Half day

DSD boat: After the initial training we take you by boat to the National Park to make not one but two open water dives.
Cost: 199 USD
Duration: One full day or two half days.
Includes: Fruit, snacks, water and refreshments on board.

Included in both programs: instructor, full scuba gear and tanks.
