We base our operation at Marina Fonatur, just south of town, where we have our boat Keiko docked. Please note that we don’t have a brick-and-mortar shop, so it’s important that you get in touch with us by email or phone to set up dives in advance!
If you have your own transportation (car, bike or scooter) and you’re coming from town, you can either take Avenida 65 (may be Av. 8 de octubre on maps) going south until it reaches the highway and then go left on the highway, or take Rafael Melgar Avenue (the oceanfront road) south.
If you are coming from Playa del Carmen, you’ll see taxis lined up right outside the ferry pier. The taxi ride from the ferry pier takes around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic, and you can expect it to cost around 120 pesos (6 USD).
At the Marina’s security gate you’ll need to specify that you are diving with Punta Sur Divers and the boat is called Keiko. Once you’ve found a parking spot, from the main roundabout go left and you’ll see the Marina’s main building. There are multiple offices and shops there. Look for the drugstore near the waterfront, where there’s a shaded area near the boat ramp. That’s where someone from our team will meet you!
We’ll meet you here and help you carry any dive gear or bags to the boat.
Normally our boat departs at 8 AM in the Winter and around 9 AM in the Summer. In the afternoons we depart either at 1:30 or at 2 PM. When we have divers coming from Playa del Carmen in the morning we delay our departure to 9:30 AM.
Your specific meeting time will be communicated to you in your confirmation email! Contact us at +52.987.111.9976 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about when and where to meet us.
